What is EXIF metadata?
EXIF is a group of metadata fields commonly stored inside photos. It can describe the camera, settings, date, orientation and GPS position.
Can you view metadata from iPhone photos?
The viewer can read many iPhone JPEG and HEIC metadata fields when the browser supports the file. HEIC display and cleaning support varies by browser.
Why is no metadata shown?
The photo may have been cleaned previously, exported by an app that removed metadata, or stored in a format your browser cannot fully decode.
Is the GPS map private?
Coordinates are displayed locally. Opening the optional map link takes you to OpenStreetMap in a new tab, which is a separate service.
